Finished BH volume 6.
Although the story has gotten "serious", the wackyness is still there.
*Cringes at the thought of a female version of Carrot*
BTW, Onion rules!!

You may be familiar with Yoshikazu Yasuhiko? He was an intergral player in the formation of Sunrise Studios, and the character designer and animation director for the original Gundam TV series. He's also an illustrator and manga author. His works include a great manga I just read the first volume of. "Joan" is the story of a young girl named Emil who is raised as a boy by Baudicourt, the same guy who schooled Joan of Arc. She has visions of Joan of Arc that guide her. Like most of Yasuhiko-sensei's manga, it's in color. I usually don't care for color manga, but it's very well done and enjoyable. There are two more volumes, which maybe I can get ahold of sometime. ^^;

From what I've heard of it, it sounds like the radio dramas. ^^;
I just read Daigo of Fire Company M. Kinda interesting, except the main chara's expressions which fill the entire page. Now I'm reading the first volume of Yu Yu Hakusho. Except for a movie and a TV special, I'm not too familiar with YYH. But I'm finding it very interesting and even a bit enlightening. The first volume basically covers Yusuke's experiences between life and death, and is a bit of a journey of self discovery.

Reading manga is my absolute favourite thing to do in the world. I read Shounen Jump (Shaman King, Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, Yu-gi-oh, DBZ, Sandland, One Piece and now Hikago!) Remarkably I do enjoy all the series' in Shounen Jump at least a little and it's so cheap that I definately think it's worth my money. ;D
At the moment I'm collecting Fake. Secondary priorities are Gravitation and the manwha Demon Diary. In terms of commercial releases I also love Kare Kano, Marmalade Boy, Mars, Paradise Kiss, Bride of Deimos, Petshop of Horrors and Please Save My Earth...but I only own one or two volumes of those titles. There's so much manga now a days that deciding what to buy is difficult (esp. when you have a limited budget).
I also have about 16 discs of scanlations which I've barely even started to chomp into. Out of what I've read I love CCS, Wish, GTO and Slam Dunk (all commercialized) plus out of the non-commercialized stuff Love Mode, Count Cain, DNAngel and Yami no Matsuei. Anything associated with yaoi/shounen-ai/mxm slashability I love. I like pretty much any manga except for...hm...really uber shounen stuff like Fist of the Blue Sky and Fist of the North Star.

Welcome goddessneptune! I haven't read any Ranma 1/2 in a long time, so I started on volume 21. ^^; It's still amusing, I'll say that much....
Speaking of Scanlations, I have some 17 volumes of Kimagure Orange Road that I keep forgetting about. I wonder if I'll ever finish it? ^^;

BTW, is there is a good romantic story that DOESN'T involve high school students? Maison Ikkoku! By Rumiko Takahashi (Urusei Yatsura, Ranma 1/2, Inu-Yasha). Story of Godai, a ronin trying to enter a college while living in a boarding house. He falls in love with his widowed Landlady. Whackiness ensues. If you liked Love Hina, you'll like Maison Ikkoku. One Pound Gospel, another Takahashi manga. It's about a genius boxer who is having trouble staying in a weight-class for long because he can't stop eating. At the same time, he falls in love with a Nun. Dance Til Tommorow. This one guy is about to inherit a million yen from his dead grandfather. The catch is that he has to graduate from college. The problem is that he'd rather hang out with and work for his avant garde theater troupe than attend classes. At the same time, he runs into a distant relative at his grandfather's funeral and she latches onto him. He is unsure as to whether she really likes him or, as his lawyer insists, is only after his inheritance. Regardless of all the obstacles, they still manage to have sex every five minutes.

My favourite mangas are: Hana Yori Dango: I have only volume 21, it's japanese, so I can't really understand, but it's very cool. I think it's much better than the anime (but it's also great Utena: I've seen the serie, and the movie too, they are my favourite! And the manga is also very great ^^ And I like Arina Tanemura's (Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, ION, Time Stranger Kyoko, Full Moon wo Sagashite...) and Yuu Watase's (Fushigi Yuugi and Ayashi no Ceres) mangas very much ^__^ They are very beautiful

I just read the first couple of volumes of Peach Girl. I don't usually go for shoujo manga (barring a few exceptions), but Momo is totally awesome. She's SO violent and gets pissed all the time. It's nice to not see her not turn to mush after the first couple of chapters.
Facts:
1. Momo is a mammal.
2. Momo gets pissed all the time.
3. The purpose of Momo is to flip out and knee you in the balls.

I read the Cowboy Bebop Shooting Star manga which is a spin-off from the original series. It was canceled after 2 volumes and I can see why, it really kinda sucks. The series starts over and reintroduces the chara. They all kinda act like dork-asses and don't even look like the originals. Well, Jet and Ein do because they have such distinguishing features. ^^; I was bored and disappointed with it.
I also recently started the Excel Saga manga which was kind of a disappointment at first. It really doesnt compare to the anime at all. I'm up to volume four now, and I'm finally kinda getting into it. Although I'm still wondering when some of these "stories they didn't dare put in the anime" will appear? I do have an newfound appreciation for Hyatt though. She is especially beautiful in her manga rendering, the way her eyes sorta slant downward and are all deep and watery..... ^_^;;;
