Adding to the list:
Good morning, good evening, really, bye, aunt, grandfather, hi my name is, yes, thank you, beautiful, delicious, it's time to eat, big brother, doctor, teacher, priestess, dragon, sword, cat, dog, etc..
Now that I think about it, how do you say "son" or "daughter"??
..... and when you watch too much hentai, you learn like 10 different ways to say "no" or "stop it"......j/k. ;D

Now that I think about it, how do you say "son" or "daughter"?? Can't think of son off the top of my head... but daughter is musume. which - interestingly enough - can also be used to refer to a girl who isn't your daughter. Ah, the interacacies of the Japanese language....... OK, let's take it to the next level: Name at least 3 definitions of Kami. What is the translation of "Makoto?"

Aw, you guys are no fun. Name at least 3 definitions of Kami. 1. Spirits of the Shinto religion (and yes Kami-sama also means God) 2. Paper 3. Hair 4. Thunder .... I think there may be more, but that's all I can remember right now. Makoto = truth. Many Japanese names are words that are still in common usage: Aoi = blue Hikaru/Hikari - light Rei = spirit There are many more, but I'm having a mental block (it's late at night and I just got off work ^^; ) I'll add more later.

Yeah! ;D That's one of my favorite websites! I always get a chuckle out of it.
a typical exchange: Student: What does "ohayoo" mean? Teacher: It means "good morning" Student: That's not what my girlfriend said...

Hey, SAUCER I don't think that KAMI means thunder. Thunder is KAMINARI or IKAZUCHI(the old word for kaminari)

Makoto = truth. Many Japanese names are words that are still in common usage: Aoi = blue Hikaru/Hikari - light Rei = spirit Almost every Sailor Moon fan would know the meaning to Rei and Makoto as well as the rest of the senshi's names. They know what senshi means as well.
