goku = extremely gohan = meal; cooked rice (prefixed by asa-, hiru-, and ban-) the classic Domo arigato = Thank you very much Shonen = boy shojo = girl bulma = bloomers (girls underwear) chichi = breast In some animes the names are just plays on other words. Raditz = Radish Kakkarot = Carrot Vegeta = Vegetable (in some of the scenes in the Japanese version of Dragon Ball Z you'll hear Goku call vegeta , vegetable) Videl Satan = Devil Satan That's just to name a few...

some animes eh? It would appear those are all from the same anime ...LOL ;D
I found out when I went to Japan, that japanese use english words simply because they like the way they sound.
at a video arcade the sign read.
Come Play Make Fun Too Hot !

One of the funniest things to do in Japan is walk up to a vending machine and start laughing at drinks with names like "Life Partner." Japanese on the street will usually avoid you, as this only reinforces the commonly held notion that all gaijin are insane (well anime otaku, at least).
My current, favorite Japanese word: MANKO WARNING: Do not yell this out on a crowded subway train.
