This month's issue of Game Informer has a 10-page article on the new GTA came coming in October. This game is going to be totally off the hook! It takes place in entire state of California!! There are three cities, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Each city is the size of Vice City, only much more detailed and featured. Plus, you have to actually drive through the state to get from one city to another, just as you would if you were really driving through California. The countryside is going to be mostly barren but with some features and missions in between (if you've ever driven Highway 5 from SF to LA you'll know that it's mostly farmland. Head on over to Las Vegas and you'll be driving through the Mojave Desert).
In Vegas you can gamble. Even build and run a Casino! You can also form a gang and do 4-person drive-bys. The detailing and fighting in the game is also richer. There's lots of new cars and guns and even bikes! It's also sort of like an RPG, because you can take your character to the gym and work him out. Or, if you just feed him doughnuts all the time he'll get fat and sloppy and be unable to perform missions! The feature for buying and managing property, originally introduced in Vice City is also suppsoed to be alot better.
All confirmed facts, not rumors! This game is going to be totally out of control. I can hardly wait. Oh it's also supposed to have a dynamic difficulty, so if you're having trouble on a mission after retrying several times it will ease up on you a bit so you can actually finish it! That's the best new feature IMHO.
