Has anyone seen this film? I saw it last night. Can you say......
RUROUNI KENSHIN
?! !? Good, I knew you could. ^.^; Those of you who have seen it will maybe see what I'm getting at? The similarities, especially to the first OVA series, are astonishing. Not that anime isn't constantly borrowing from and improving upon itself. But I was really suprised on how much this movie drew from RK. Perhaps another sign of how much anime is influencing Hollywood?

It was OK. But I think I'd rather watch Ogami Itoh slice people in half any day. Or that nutter from Sleepy Eyes of Death.

I thought The Last Samurai was very good. And I've never seen RK to compare.. I'll probably have to wait till next summer to even think about buying it But if its cool like The Last Samurai, then it must be worth watching eh

I just saw that last night! When Tom Cruise falls in love with the woman who's husband he killed...I was like...heeeyy.... .... Yeah, see?! That's exactly what I'm talking about. Plus, the post- bakumatsu revolutions by samurai who simply can't give up the sword. The themes of modernisation and western influence versus Japanese traditions......
