I'm new so sorry if I do somethin' weird without realizing it...
Anyways, I wanted to know if there are any scenes cut out of the English version of Full Metal Alchemist. Specifically, episode 3, and another episode later on, (I think it is episode 30 or something like that,) when Scar is hiding out with the Ishbalan refugees and he discovers that weird guy that his sensei warns him to stay away from. You know, the guy with the alchemic drawings on his wall? Is there anything that was in the original version but is cut out of the American version? Maybe this is a silly question but I have to know.

are you watching the version that is on TV in English? ....then highly likely. You'd better buy the DVDs.

Yes, I am watching it on Cartoon Network. (Guess I should have said that.) So you don't know for SURE if there are parts cut out? Thanks anyways either way.

First off, welcome to the board rdorothyw!
Second, I'm not familiar with either version of the anime. But past experience tells me that; if it's on Cartoon Network then it's censored! Even stuff on Adult Swim is censored to some extent. American censors have a vastly different idea of what's "appropriate for television" than the Japanese.
In my purist opinion, I think you would be better downloading the fansubs. ^^;

Well, I know it isn't censored... but it's like they cut parts out just for the heck of it. Thanks for the advice though, I guess I will either buy the dvds or download it.

Sometimes they cut out parts to save airtime. Sometimes they'll cut out "offensive" scenes or even entire episodes. Splice bits of this and that episode together. ::shudders in horror at rememberance of what Fox did to Escaflowne::
