Please put anything that ever made you wonder or think about in anime.
I'll put mine first:
Why do fatally injured people always let out a big chunk of blood just before they die?
Why do nerd types always have more than three women after them?
Why do people always scream the attack's name before doing it?

LOL!!!!! This is going to be a funny thread. I was just thinking the other day, about how anime is so misunderstood by people, most non-fans and new fans. The problem, I believe, lies in the fact that anime is so much more realistic than the western conception of animation. At the same time, it's still an abstraction of real life. So, things are exagerrated. I remember reading this really old writing by a Japanese author who worte plays for Japanese Puppet Theater. He commented on how people said his plays we're realistic, "Women don't really act this or that way." And he mentioned that, of course they don't! It's a fictional story, it's not going to follow real life exactly. Why do fatally injured people always let out a big chunk of blood just before they die? LOL! One word: Drama! Japanese theater is notable for it's wretching emotional play. It also shows the extent of their injury. Additionally, anime is just sort of "wet" to begin with, as Gilles Potrais says. when people cry, they gush torrents, people bleed in huge founts. And in hentai... well, you know. ^^; Also, anime is after all influenced by manga, which is in turn influenced by Japanese live action film. If you ever watch old samurai films like Sleepy Eyes of Death, at a critical moment some one will get stabbed and spiut out a huge mouthful of blood. ^^; At the same time, this is also where conventions come from, like a samurai running through a group of enemies and at the end pausing. Then they all fall down at once. Wish/fantasy fulfillment. ^^; Makes an average guy feel good. Just like in shows for younger boys, like Yuusha Robot shows, a small, unexceptional boy becomes the "yuusha" that will save the world from the aliens or evil scheme or something. Ha ha, reminds me of Nadesico. "Why do they say the name of the weapon? Are they voice-activated." I don't know, but it's an old convention. Probably the influence of manga, no doubt. Again, I turn to Sleepy Eyes of Death for reference; "This is the Full Moon Cut. You will be dead before the circle is complete...."

Overflowing body fluids. ::sweatdrop:: Thanks for the info, but what I really find amuzing, is when the attack's names have orignal english words mixed up. That is so funny when they scream it. ;D

What's up with those chicks that show one fang? Is it supposed to look them sexy? Example: Lime from SMJ. Have you met people that think that anime is animated porn? Everytime I see my big brother, he always makes fun of me because I see "animated porn". My girlfriend bitches about anime because she can't stand the female characters with their high pitched voices, and doing it like: "ahhh. ahh". .....or is it that she has seen me watch hentai.....OOPS!

What's up with those chicks that show one fang? Is it supposed to look them sexy? Example: Lime from SMJ. This is to sort of make the look "catty." For the same reason Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo sprouts a tail. Remember, everything in anime and manga is visual. The jokes, character personalities and feelings, etc.... Most people used to think that way, until Pokemon became huge. Now they think anime is only for little kids. ^^; LOL! Well, they make those ridiculous sounds in Japanese porno movies too. ^^; As far as squeaky voices in general go, the Japanese believe this is supposed to be more feminine. Secretaries who work for huge companies are told to answer the phone in this high pitched voice. Heh heh

Most people used to think that way, until Pokemon became huge. Now they think anime is only for little kids. ^^; Forgot about that! Yes with all of this Pokemon, many people think that anime is supposed to be like this. BTW, this made me think of something else. Has anybody heard people say anime is evil? Yo see, I live in a society which is basically close minded and somewhat religious. When people see those magical anime (example: Sailor Moon), or like many other anime when they fight monsters, people tend to say that it is the work of the devil. Heh, and it didn't help when the anime of the moment was DBZ, and one of the characters was named Satan!! ;D LOL! Well, they make those ridiculous sounds in Japanese porno movies too. ^^; As far as squeaky voices in general go, the Japanese believe this is supposed to be more feminine. Secretaries who work for huge companies are told to answer the phone in this high pitched voice. Heh heh *sighs* This is one of the reasons I love subbed anime. I'm hooked on those noises.

Forgot about that! Yes with all of this Pokemon, many people think that anime is supposed to be like this. Yes, but you're right that people used to think anime was porn. Some still do, especially if they were exposed to it a long time ago. I know this one guy who says he can't watch anime at all, because his first anime was Urotsokidoji (seems to be the case with alot of people ^^; ). And it freaked him out that animated people were having sex. So now, when ever he sees an anime chara he feels sick. What a coward. I'm actually suprised at the number of religious people in the United States (mostly Catholics) who are really into anime. Harry Potter, on the other hand...... ^^; Some people do get miffed at the odd way western religious imagery is sometimes used in anime. But if you think about it, western religions are as foreign to the japanese as Shinto, Buddhism and Confucism are to most of us. It's an anime convention! ;D I simply wouldn't be anime without it. ^_^

hehe , A long time indeed. ;D How many times in anime do a guy and a girl fall down together into a compromising position? Answer: Twice as much as half! The exact figure would have to be something up in the infinite range.

Me wonders:
What would happen if Maya (Burn-Up) or Forte (Galaxy Angel) would meet Bolt Crank (Eat-Man)?
Would they think he is the man of their dreams?.....or would really be pissed when they found out their gun collection is missing?
